Surgical Skin Treatments

Repair of wound lacerations and all skin cancer procedures which include excision of skin lesions and curettage.

The Fee is dependent on the location, size and type of lesion removed. This will determine your medicare patient rebate and out of pocket cost.
Costs of any procedure will be discussed prior to booking

DVA Patients (Veterans)

All services are bulk billed for patients holding a valid DVA card which covers skin cancer management

Workers Compensation

The insurer can be billed directly with no out of pocket expense for cases where an injury has resulted in skin cancer and there is a valid claim number

Please note that medicare Items 30071 and 30192 are subject to the ‘Medicare Multiple Operations Rule’ which means your medicare patient rebate is reduced per item if multiples of these services are provided on the same day. Your rebate will be 100% of the 1st service, 50% of the 2nd service and 25% of any subsequent services. This results in an increased out of pocket cost if multiple procedures are completed on the same day.

All Australians should have access to high standards of care in the management of skin cancer. We support our patients effort for an increase in medicare rebates so that out of pocket costs are reduced, health care becomes affordable and patients can access the care they deserve. We encourage our patients to contact their local MP to advocate for a higher medicare patient rebate.
